Julia sees this as a chance for a fresh start and accepts the position. But when she gets to Havenwood, the novelist's remote estate in the Minnesota wilderness, she begins to wonder whether this too-good-to-be-true job offer is exactly that.

Wendy, I wanted to contact you and tell you I'm looking forward to your next book, The Vanishing. My name is also Wendy, and in your first book, The Tale of Halycon Crane, you have a character named Madlyn. My daugter was Madalyn. In your second book, The Fate of Mercy Alban, you have a character Adele, That is my middle name. And in The Vanishing, you have a character named Amaris. My daughter's middle name was Amara. Coincidences, yes?

Wendy, that's just amazing!! Coincidences like this really spark my imagination. Thanks so much for letting me know this. You're writing of your daughter in the past tense, so please accept my condolences at the loss of Madalyn Amara. I'm sure she was a wonderful girl. Thanks again for writing!
